Sometimes the stars and calendar align for truly serendipitous happenings, and the Yawkey Foundation is delighted to announce that on what would be Jean Yawkey’s 114th birthday, a $3 million grant has been awarded to the Boston Medical Center (BMC).
This grant supports BMC’s ongoing expansion of its Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Program, which provides many of Boston’s underprivileged and underserved children and families with behavioral health resources and support.
Equitable access to behavioral health services is out of reach for many families around the country. However, BMC’s efforts to create a network of resources for those most in need would make Jean proud and set a great example for Greater Boston’s philanthropic communities.
The Yawkey Foundation is honored to have had the opportunity to support BMC’s outreach efforts for decades, and we look forward to working together for many years to come.
