Yawkey Foundation Announces $510,000 in 2023 Arts & Culture Program & Small Capital Grants

Dedham (MA), December 16, 2023 – The Trustees of the Yawkey Foundation today announced $510,000 in Program & Small Capital grant funding to 14 Greater Boston nonprofit organizations dedicated to providing access to programs that enrich the lives of children and families by inspiring curiosity, creativity, and appreciation for diversity in culture, conversation, and expression.

These newly awarded Program & Small Capital grants are in addition to more than $1,000,000 in funding being provided this year to in-progress and multiyear grant recipients, including Embrace Boston, National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum, Museum of Science Boston, Boston Children’s Museum, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Discovery Museum and Celebrity Series.

The nonprofits receiving Arts & Culture grants in the 2023 Program & Small Capital cohort include:

Additionally, Yawkey Foundation recently awarded two additional grants to support access to the arts and strengthening the creative ecosystem, including:

  • $3 million Transformational Capital grant to Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción for the construction of The Center for Arts, Self Determination, and Activism (the CASA), a community-centered arts space and New England’s largest Latinx arts hub.
  • $250,000 Transformational Capital grant to the Boch Center for structural repairs and safety improvements to the organization’s two historic programming and performance venues, the Wang Theatre and the Shubert Theatre.
