Supporting Equitable Access to High-Quality Health Care Across Greater Boston

WESTWOOD, MA The Trustees of the Yawkey Foundation today announced $720,000 in Program & Small Capital grants to health care nonprofit organizations in Greater Boston. These grants continue the philanthropic legacy of the Foundation’s founders, Jean and Tom Yawkey, and their enduring commitment to expanding access to quality medical care.

Since 1977, the Yawkey Foundation has invested more than $135 million in health care initiatives that strengthen care delivery and improve health outcomes across the communities the Yawkeys called home – Greater Boston and Georgetown, South Carolina.

“These organizations exemplify our Foundation’s core values by delivering compassionate, culturally responsive care to those who need it most,” said Alicia Verity, CEO of the Yawkey Foundation. “Through their vital work, they are helping to ensure that every individual, regardless of background or circumstances, can access the health care resources they need and deserve.”

These grants complement the Foundation’s 2025 Transformational Capital investments, including support for McLean Hospital’s state-of-the-art academic and residential campus dedicated to child and adolescent mental health, and Mass Eye and Ear’s Emergency Department renovation.
